Budget 2024

The Government’s Budget for 2024 includes the following proposed measures:

increasing the personal income tax thresholds for the bottom three income tax rates
extending the Independent Earner Tax Credit
increasing the In-Work Tax Credit and the Minimum Family Tax Credit
introducing FamilyBoost which supports households with the cost of early childhood education, and
temporarily increasing the interest rate charged on overseas-based borrowers’ student loans and for late repayments.

Twenty Sixth Annual Farmers Winter Party

For the past 25 years the Farmers Winter Party has been a most successful annual event which, this year, is to be held on Wednesday 19 ^th July starting at 5.30 p.m. It is anticipated there will again be a large crowd at the Otorohanga Club to enjoy an excellent evening. This year will follow the same format as last in that it will begin with an “Oto-Expo”. This will be a chance for the farming community to meet and greet the many supporters of this social event.

We have been grateful for sponsorship by businesses in the past and we hope sponsors will continue to give this event their support

All sponsors who contribute agree this is one of the most effective sponsorship or advertising campaigns they subscribe to. As business people, we all rely on farmers for their support and the opportunity to provide them with the products and services they require. David was awarded a Fellowship of the Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand

David Bailey was awarded a Fellowship of the Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand, this month. Fellowship is awarded to Chartered Accountants who have delivered outstanding service and contributions to their profession and also their wider community.

New Anti-Money Laundering and Client Due Diligence

As you may be aware, accountants and other professionals must comply with the Anti Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009 requirements. From the 1 ^st October 2018, our firm must obtain and verify information from prospective and existing clients. This information includes:

· Your full name

· Your date of birth

· Your address.

To confirm these details documents such as your drivers license, passport or your birth certificate, and documents that show your address such as a current bank statement, will be required. The proof of address can be a bank statement or utility bill and must be less than three months old. We need to have copies of these documents to keep on file. We attach a leaflet which sets out requirements which will help.

We may also need to ask you for further information in the future which can include details of your source of wealth and details of any large transactions.
